It is good news. Trust me. It will help people realize that many of us are not wearing tin foil hats.

It is good for us as a pilot group. More flying means better job security. It is not earth shattering so do not fret over it, but it is more of a WOW!

If I can get the real crew scheduler (my wife) to agree it will be 96/3. Sad but true

lets see:

UAL spares valued at $585M turned into a $175M loan

Thats a drop in the Bucket

Their only chance to raise cash is to start selling their most valuable assets

UAL has 52 777 and has sold 8 in the last 5 years...

Don't they also have some attractive pacific routes that are worth something as well? Add the two together and we may be seeing some more long distance routes out of ATL/LAX on "gently used" 777s.

So how many pilots are you guys over staffed by that it's considered large?

Hmm, the route authority for the just lauched LAX GRU is from United...

I do see something happening at LAX because United lost the case to keep RJs at the 80 gates but I haven't seen any changes yet.

Meanwhile Delta-N moved over to Terminal 5 and 6 and it's going to be impossible spacewise once demand picks back up

What would really be interesting is if United (or someone) had some cherished routes they were selling to raise cash. I don't know if this is even done anymore (or if there are ANY routes that consistently make money), but back in the day, several of the "greats" slowly sold off their crown jewels before they became so hollow they collapsed.
