No...not -Through- Queens, they'll go underground, so it won't disrupt the surface flow!
You know that will be 'cost effective'!

I have often thought they could just do the same with an hourly secure bus between jfk and lga. Why not, continental/united does it ewr to abe....heck they even give it a flight number, I have actually jumpseated on it in the past.
This idea is pretty creative. I hope it works out for the largest commercial consumer of jet fuel on earth. I'd put it on par with SWA's early fuel hedging strategy.
Nope.. just crazy talk, but I am sure it has been talked about.. doesn't men there has been any serious consideration... unless maybe if it is a MagLev train that needs no track.. Now THAT would be innovative.

ROTFLMAO. You know one of the JFK terminal solutions proposed taking the old JBlue terminal and tunnelling under 31R to all of that area where there are the cargo terminals and building a DTW style gate building.. THAT would have been much more cost effective than a connector train btwn LGA and JFK, and it was scrapped for cost.

Most of JFK is built on former swamp. No matter how they tried to engineer the tunnels it was a giant nightmare and as you mentioned way beyond anything they could consider cost effective. Terminal 8 in JFK is the new focus. It would work perfect for us.
I think that tunneling idea was pretty cool though, but as I understand it you are correct about the water problems..
