For many in the Western world it is a religious holiday and an opportunity for reflection. As I reflect on where we are I still marvel that your airline didn't furlough during the last economic downturn and that you retained a job, that in this economy you work for an airline that's found a way to remain profitable and that we're in contract negotiations for an up contract.
Oh, blah. I just threw up on my screen.
What I am thankful for: I'm senior to you. And, you are not one of our negotiators.

Oh, and today I'm thankful for you, Orvil, as I respect my elders. I'm thankful for Carl too. For Bar's sake I hope you guys leave at 60...
And I'm thankful for whippersnappers like Scambo, 80, Bar, ACL, Manager, and all those other APC'ers that I've had respectful disagreements with here. But not Bacon...he's a poser.Oh, and I like Ferd too (no afterthought here). It's surprising to me we can find a retired USAF figher guy that sets such a high standard as his friends in Saipan.
Peace out.

Arkansas State Motto: At least we're not Alabama!

Fyi; the company is stating that the get an increase of 1% of the new rest rules. Now I am sure they are just modeling after the rules and not the PWA, but that is what they have said.
Crew Resources is just publishing what is "known" at the current time. We are about 1000 bodies over.
Crew Resources is just publishing what is "known" at the current time. We are about 1000 bodies over.
And I think the company is twisting the facts when they say we were 1000 over this winter. Just take a look at the 22.D numbers from the latest AE. The 22.D.3 (where the active pilots will be in Nov, after all training is complete from the latest AE,) shows roughly 10,600 active pilots. The 22.D.2 numbers (how many bodies we “need” - which is for August – I.E. peak block hours,) currently on DLnet show us needing roughly 10,140 pilots. So the overage is only about 460 pilots. And as I understand it, if we get close to the 22.D.2 numbers, we’re getting close to a staffing crisis.
And maybe they do plan to create their own crisis. In that case, I hope all of us are smart enough to tell our reps in no uncertain terms that it is not the pilots’ responsibility to grant relief to management for a crisis they created - especially when we warned them it was coming!
Alright, enough seriousness. The stock market’s closed, the news is slow, and the weather is great, even if you have to fly today! Fly safe if you have to fly, and enjoy the weekend if you don't!
Use your sick leave if you're sick. Don't forget to report your illness on your next medical, and if it's after October of this year you'll have to use MedXpress.
