Little pessimistic today? You seen the actual document or are you channeling Hockeypilot and Gloopy?

Exactly. Reps did not know the specifics on everything until they started getting briefed early this am.

They are goijng through it now. I expect that to take, at a min most the day.

I've heard several different things concerning our contract. One of the several different things was growth could be right around the corner, hence, some concessions here and there on staffing issues to handle both NB and WB growth. That's all just rumors. And on principle I'd hope the NC would know better (and I think they do) than to agree to say yes to giving something up on paper in exchange for the company promising to do something in return, like grow, that's legitimately not on paper.

Whatever, that's kind of messy. Probably not what's going on anyways so wait til the TA, right?

But 717s announcement around the same time as a TA would make sense. A tangible promise of some "growth" greater than our current trajectory "so now look at the TA in a different light" kind of thing. A little euphoria would help the TA go better right? Kind of like how sex is the Novocain that makes marriage possible- growth is like the Novocain that makes a squishy TA palatable?

But just like I don't want to give up staffing to make more money, I don't want to give up something in a contract for an unwritten promise.

I welcome 717s with open arms, but Section 1 and Section 2-28 of the TA are separate issues.

Growth, but with lower payrates IS a b-scale.

I'm a little confused...7 days for what?

For the MEC to vote on it?

Or for them to show it to the pilot group?

And is that a maximum or a minimum amount of time?

And can we expect to see any 'details' sooner than 7 days?

The Reps have 7 days to send it or shoot it down. It could come to membership before that

All good points. Everyone should be acutely aware that even if we get some more airplanes (717's, A319's, etc) the company can park others leaving a zero sum game or possibly even shrinkage with work rules that require less pilots

The policy manual; which they can vote to disregard wrt to this, states seven days from the time they have actual TA language to a MEC vote. This MEC has been enforcing this policy on all of the loa's

Cool

"But 717s announcement around the same time as a TA would make sense."

I just hope the 717 deal doesn't involve bringing in SWA/AT pilots with the jets. I have a SWA dude in my reserve unit. In a typical cavalier attitude he told me we were saving them by taking their 717s as well as the angry AT guys.
