I suggested we should have part of our pay fixed, part of it "at risk", and part of it adjusted to inflation several months ago, and I don't think anyone liked it on APC.

4/8/3/3, for example, would sound better if it would flex from 4-16/8-32/2-8/2-8 depending on inflation and profit. The reason I'm not overly focused on pay is that I want a good contract first, but the reason I could imagine voting for the rumored 4/8/3/3 (with a good contract) is that I don't know what the future holds.

You could have a poor economy, and poor company performance, and 4/8/3/3 would look specatular in hindsight. You could also have a great economy, and high inflation, and be able to live with 16/32/8/8. You could even have some middle ground, i.e. stagflation, and get by on 8/16/4/4, or something like that.

We're remarkably poor at figuring out how to handle the goose long-term, and we're not very trusting of any flexible components to our pay. So we'll always have to weigh the risk of foregoing a decent raise after the economy turns sour by being too agressive, vs. the reward of holding out for the company to hit on all cyclinders, with the right administration, at some time in the future, with our bungholes puckered up that the economy doesn't cough meanwhile.

So, here we are.
I actually like the idea. Doesn't Allegiant have some sort of profit base pay? Although I'd like ours to be revenue based not profit.

And that I just put us 1 post closer to 100,000.

Man we were about to go to the pool when a thunderstorm blossomed out of nowhere. Probably fed off Lake Lanier. Rarely do we have storms come from the north and head south, but when they do, I get some rain!

All that to say, I think that cell just took out the ATL for a while.

We still have a few posts to go before GuardDude gets back so I'll verrrry verrry carefully post here, making sure I don't overshoot...

How many of ya'll are gonna camp out at the MEC meeting in ATL tomorrow morning? Don't have anything going on, thinking about jetting up if there'll be a few APCers there. Sounds like an excellent excuse to drink some beer (and perhaps something harder, depending on how good/bad the T/A is :-)).

The counter on the major page, and on the thread itself, are different by 1, BTW. I'm not sure which is the True Count.

This from the same guy who accuses others of dwelling on insignificant points.

Will the vote on the TA be during open session?

This from the genius who think I'm actually serious. Tell me more about Reserve, I'm not sure I understand the concept.

According to previous posts, yes it will be open session.

After all, there is only so long they can keep the lid on this before they pass out or die:

I'm getting the vibe that the T/A is not good. I'm guessing the MEC is at odds over it. I would be impressed if the MEC rejected it and said try again mgmt. After all, we are 7 months early, what's another few months.

Cheers!
