I'm getting the vibe that the T/A is not good. I'm guessing the MEC is at odds over it. I would be impressed if the MEC rejected it and said try again mgmt. After all, we are 7 months early, what's another few months.
Cheers! Guard Dude Exactly! For the last couple of weeks DALPA has been saying "We will not sacrifice quality for haste. So if we have a TA - it must be quality. Scoop |

How many of ya'll are gonna camp out at the MEC meeting in ATL tomorrow morning? Don't have anything going on, thinking about jetting up if there'll be a few APCers there. Sounds like an excellent excuse to drink some beer (and perhaps something harder, depending on how good/bad the T/A is :-)). For the sake of the industry I hope management didn't throw you all a dud. I'll be at the airport in the afternoon for some airport appreciation courtesy of SureJet if any other APCers are around.:D |

Neil Armstrong, Yeager, High Flight.................. or the words that will live in infamy: Has anybody heard how things are going with Delta interviews and new hires? With Delta starting to hire off the street, I figured there would be more information flowing through the forum. Lurk mode on. |
I wonder if this quest for 100k will be like "Storage Wars," where randoms pop out of the woodwork to bid on a locker they have no chance of winning, just to get their 0.5 seconds of fame on cable TV.

Guard Dude are you standing by for this pointless meaningless, but nevertheless critically important moment?

Have you guys not read the contract comparison? According to DALPA, when you factor in our DC contribution from the company, our 737 pilots are only 11 percent behind the SWA pilots. A 12 percent raise on the amendable date (4 now and 8 then) would put us above Southwest in DALPA's mind. That is industry leading which was our goal. Never mind that our MD-88 pilots are flying around 149/160 pax and are still getting well less than the Southwest pilots are to fly around 137 pax. With a 12 percent raise, even our 737 guys will still be taking home much less than the SWA pilots. Do the SWA pilots get a raise on the first of the year also for COLA? This 12 percent pay raise will probably pass 65 percent yes - 35 percent no. Just about every single pilot on this message board will be in the "no category." Convincing ourselves to vote no is easy. The problem is convincing the pilots that do not read the message boards. Those guys only read the things from ALPA stuffed in their v-files, and I am sure ALPA's sales pitch will be quite strong.
