Better, yes. But unfortunately still not correct...

I think when Delta last hired they had something like 10,000 applications on file and only a couple hundred were actually hired. So in terms of a ratio of applicants to hires it was approximately 50:1.

I have no inside information, but I seriously doubt that ratio will be skewed significantly during this hiring cycle. I certainly encourage people to apply and to update their applications, but statistically speaking, the hiring process is very selective.

Good Luck to all!

Not so much as figured it out as simply had to adapt new tactics. Whipsaws go back to the 90's at some "commuters". It was worse post 9/11 when the legacies had enhanced leverage via BK.

Now, not in BK and making a profit, new methods have come about. And to echo BB's thoughts for a third time in this thread, bad for the profession.

Do the 717 delays slide all the hiring to the right? Seems to be the trend.

Right now it's only a week. Doubt that'll have any effect.

Getting to the age where I'm becoming Farsighted (Can't see near things). Is this going to be an issue at the interview and hurt my chances for a job?

Martin,

If the Delta test is the same, it's the very difficult segmented circle type instead of the ol' 20/20 D E F P O T E C. I was testing 20/10 back then and could not pass it without the nurse asking "are you sure it isn't XXX ?" about four times.

If you need glasses, get them before the test.

Test might have changed. I've heard rumors of "if they pass a First Class, that's good enough ..." but am not sure.

I can barely hear you. Now I can barely see you Man, I am losing my reading ability quicker that I thought I would. 20/10 all my life, all of a sudden, I am squinting.

You are in good company. We are all blind and deaf at a certain age.
