Tell me more! Are you talking about SLC specifically? Or West Coast bases in general? This is timely, based entirely on your info, I may buy a house today.
Some of the 2007 hire guys are still in SLC. I'm a mid 07 hire and can hold a line on either the 320 or the -800. Would be 2 from the bottom on the ER. There are quite a few 08 and later guys that were here then booted so it may be some time before newhires get to SLC. If LAX and SEA grow some then SLC will probably be the junior base of the west coast bases and may be a little easier for newhires to get.

On a good note I was told by a marketing guy that 757's will always be in SLC and will not be replaced by the 737-9 because the 737-9 will not perform out of SLC in the summer. Basically said that if anything SLC will probably be about the same size going forward and will probably not see any big changes in staffing numbers. That is good as we have heard some speculate that the 757 base would close here which would not be good.

Maybe, but the phrase "capacity dicipline" is all over some of the press releases. More so than usual, and usual is a lot lately.

I am not sure if this has been covered, but I read that there will be off the street hires in every class once the furloughed pilots are recalled. For every Pinnacle (Endeavor) pilot in class, there will be 2 street hires. I read a class of 50 breaks down like this. 20 Compass, 9 Mesaba, 7 Pinnacle, 14 off the street. This was an example given. I am not making this up. I know there was confusion about how all these flows and preferential interviews work.

Good news, hockey!

And don't the Endeavor "hires" have to pass an interview?... no number of them are "required" to be in class, right? They just get guaranteed interviews.... or am I wrong?

Either way, 14 a class sounds way better than 0.

Thanks!

Probably a well placed phrase to ease the market reaction.

No individual Pinnacle guy has anything more than a guaranteed interview, however, we do have a promise to give Pinnacle guys one third of the non-compass/mesaba positions.

Thanks, nw. I wish them all the best of luck regardless.

Either way, 14 off-the-street per class, sounds like a good start.

1/3 of the street hires in each new hire class, up to 12 per class in 2013 and 2014, are required to be via the SSP negotiated with Endeavor. Delta can interview as many Endeavor pilots as they want to find up to 12 that they want to hire however. The required number of Endeavor pilots per class goes up in 2015 and again in 2016.

Of course it is. That's the flavor that Wall Street is hooked on.

Delta Air Lines Management is having a hard time understanding why attrition continues to be so high at Endeavor because of the SSP program. They like it, and believe it's going to bring a lot of Endeavor pilots to Delta Air Lines. I am willing to bet, over 90% of pilots interviewed will get hired.
