Back to the background check stuff. I just pulled my OMPF (official military personnel file). It had all of my traffic tickets I disclosed as part of my application for a commission. I only remember one of them, but there were a total of three (all from the late 90's), so I went ahead and threw those on my application with Delta.
Right now my app with Delta has 10 times the effort and details as what will get you a TS/SCI.

Being that this is the DAL hiring page I have a question to the DAL guys.
I have a friend who applied to be a FA. But their process is backwards from ours. If you want to refer anyone the EMPLOYEE has to start the process via ebid. Since she's applied I'm told that my input is out of the question.
Any way around this? I'll send a letter w/ her if she makes it to the interview but it just seams bass ackwards to me.
Baja.
BTW - If hired, you all will be stoked if you know what I mean. ;-)

Will Delta actually have access to your OMPF, or were you just checking that yourself to be thorough? I know they will get all the PRIA info from any civilian carrier you've worked for, but what info do they get from the military other than what is on your DD-214, fitness reports, and training records that you provide at the interview?
I don't know what they want or don't want. I would think the DD-214 + a logbook + NATOPs jacket should suffice. If they want FitReps, that I also find a little invasive, but I wouldn't have a problem handing them over. If they invite me for an interview, I'll follow the instructions.
The point of what I wrote, is rather than paying for a background check on myself. And rather than sweating whether or not I disclosed everything, it is an alternate method to look up those pesky tickets that I forgot about.

Here you go:
http://jetcareers.com/forms/NDR.pdf
You are entitled, under the provisions of the Privacy Act, to request a file search to see if you have a record on the NDR. As a private citizen, you must send a notarized letter commonly referred to as a “privacy act request” to the NDR indicating that you would like an NDR file check. Individuals should send their request to the National Driver Register, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C. 20590. Please include in your request your full legal name, DOB, State and Driver License Number, Sex, Height, Weight, and Eye Color (your social security number is optional). There is no charge for this service.

But it reminded me of the scene in "Authur"
Burt Johnson: I don't drink because drinking affects your decision-making.
Arthur: You may be right. I can't decide.

That would be really creepy if they asked for the OMPF. Right up there with asking for your facebook password.

"Without the consent of the veteran or next-of-kin, the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) can only release limited information from the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) to the general public. You are considered a member of the general public if you are not the veteran, asking about a veteran who is of no relation to you or seeking information about a veteran who is a relative but for whom you are not the next-of-kin. The next-of-kin is defined as any of the following: the un-remarried widow or widower, son, daughter, father, mother, brother or sister of the deceased veteran."
