Sure would be nice to wait until the bird was in hand, but I'm thinking I should commit prior. Four months between retirement and terminal leave is a long time.
Indy, as a fellow mil retiree and DAL pilot for 12 years. Don't dick around with your retirement and showing up at DAL. As Elvis so eloquently pointed out. If you got the invite, you can only unhire yourself. Drop the papers and get here ASAP. You'll regret delaying down the road. If only I'd known. Drop me a PM if you'd like some more info.

I never considered GPA as a consideration for an airline job, doing what you've been doing for years. However, more than once, I've heard DAL likes a 3.0+. I'd say lower GPA folks aren't counted out, just maybe delayed, if the rumor is true. Idk, I've never asked a guy I'm flying with what his GPA was.

Have any pinnacle guys been called as a part of the deal they made with DAL management? Kinda curious where the guys that are being interviewed will fall in the pecking order of new hires

2.86!? Hell, I was a 2.0 and Go! Although, in all honesty, it was from The Citadel. Maybe they took pity on me?

Not sure if the GPA question is serious, but I had a 2.8 and had an interview invite. I'm 20+ years removed from college so would be completely surprised if that was really a deciding factor. I did get an EE degree so maybe they cut me some slack, but I doubt GPA is that deciding a deal unless it is REAL low. Good luck boys.

This is a BS standard. What the airlines need to recognize is that a 3.0 GPA at some places is better than a near 4.0 at others. For example, an engineering degree obtained from one of the top 5 engineering schools in the country is a hard thing to do and grades are usually weighted to a class average of 3.0.......... This is hardly a fair comparison to someone who went to Podunk community college and got a perfect 4.0 because classes there are super easy. In high school I had a 3.95 graduating GPA with a SAT score of 1350 (back when max was 1600) but I chose to attend a top notch engineering program and ended up barely 3.0 graduating.

I know they have at least made it to about the 140ish guy on the seniority list. My friend was offered SSP interview but will be turning it down because He is a XJ flow through guy.
