I think someone that was in the unit with you will suffice. This works for most places, but Delta might be different... not sure.

You want to fit the mold of a professional pilot. I want the recruiters to remember you by what you say in the interview and not how you are dressed.

FYI, the first interview date available is October 14th. Good luck to all.

Timbo is not held in such high esteem by the wonks on the 4th floor. Timbo fly's airplanes and hates Cubicle Captains. If you interview with Timbo, it will be at the Sea View club in Dubai, or at Sticky Fingers in Hong Kong.

Bring money.

Lots of money.

Timbo, are you still involved with the hiring committee and fast tracking qualified APC users if they PM you?

I put the phone number of the unit (because that's where I worked and I had no idea where my supervisor was at that point). When it came to squadrons of mine that had been deactivated or moved I simply put "Unit moved." No one questioned me on this at any point.

Thanks GunshipGuy! Also, what do they do with your FITREPS during the interview? Do they have the whole stack on the table with your app and go through each one line by line?

I think FITREPS are the equivalent of OPRs (Officer Performance Reports). No, best I could tell those were being reviewed by someone on the hiring team in another room while you went through the testing and interviewing. At least that's what my take was in '07.

Thanks, yes they are the Navy equivalent of OPRs. Ok, so you never saw them or discussed them during your panel interview? Someone from the team just reviewed them for accuracy compared to your application and background info that you provided to make sure your work history and quals matched up? Just trying to get a more complete grasp on the process before hand.

Correct. I turned them in, and we never discussed them. AF OPRs are narrative reports that include summaries of what you did and how well you did it. They are normally full of hyperbole (see Kelly Flinn) as to how great you are. So other than matching up supervisor names, units you were assigned to (job history), and dates there's not much to fact check, IMO. As for your application, they'll of course have some copies on hand and ask you point blank if everything on it is correct. I think I said something about some speeding tickets I got that I put on there, but had to approximate the dates and details because two of them occurred when I was so young. They had me make a statement to that effect on their copy and that was that.
