I was hired with slightly less than 2300TT (AF heavy + GA). I know of at least one other AF heavy guy from my indoc class who had less than that, and I assume the 1510TT person from the PowerPoint slide we were shown was a fighter type. So DALPA's non-mil number might be correct.

Hey All...
I've got 2200 TT, all jet (F-16 and T-37), 1917 PIC. My biggest thing is not having flown anything for 8 years. I just took the new ATP cert course in December and flew 12hrs in a Falcon 900 sim.
My goal is to get to Delta as soon as I can.
I was just offered a CFII position with local flight school. Flying single and multi engine props.
Was also offered an interview with Skywest.
CFII job pays double and that does matter to me. But which job would be better for getting to Delta. I think I probably have enough TT to get hired, but lack recent time. Curious what all your thoughts are on this.

I believe part 121 time shows you're serious about the business and you can make it through training. It's also a risk since it is possible you could possibly fail a training event that you'd then have to list. In addition, the job isn't yours yet. I have a friend in a similar situation with similar experience to you and he screwed up the sim and didn't get the job offer.
The CFII is less risky (assuming you've already got your ticket) and as you mentioned pays better. It gets you current and qualified. Some time is better than no time, but the exact weighting of those single/multi engine hours vs. the SIC jet time you'd get at Skywest is hard to quantify.
You said the pay matters, so it looks like you're asking permission to take the CFII instead of the pain of being a new guy at Skywest, but you and I both believe deep down the Skywest job probably offers a better shot at being hired.
Good luck.

That person was in my class...ExpressJet FO, I believe. They had won a 737 type-rating scholarship, which was done in DAL's sim, and thus had excellent 4th-floor connections. Very nice person and humble about their good fortune.

Very good question, but be careful with the answers you'll get. Everybody (including me) will answer with the best of intentions but none of us truly know which is the best answer.

Why? This is needed from a guy who walked over with no interview at all?
