Seniority starts in new hire class. You think you understand it now, but if you are military, you only conceptually understand it.

It is everything. Get on property and get that seniority date set before any other concern, bridge burning included.

Can start terminal as early as late Jan for effective retirement1 May (max leave carryover). If he interviews in Oct, he will be six months from effective retirement and 3 months from availability. I think he'll have plenty of time to work it after his interview.

Mid 40s. Lots of combat time. Former DO and current Squadron Commander. IP/EP/Safety, FTU IP tour. All multi-engine pointy nose turbine...except some time as a CFI in college.

The latest news at Endeavor is that Delta has looked at the first 100+pilots outside of the XJ flows and they are not happy with what they see. From yesterdays Standards meeting in MSP where BW the COO was present,he talked mostly of the SSP bridge program and reiterated the fact that Endeavor pilots must fill out the application completely and MUST have the desire to work for Delta. First off, only 4 of the initial 60 even applied for the SSP, also, the quality of the applications beyond that is in serious question. Things like Job history since high school and logbook currency, or skipping certain questions were brought up as factors. BW said Delta is looking at expanding the SSP program to new hires and they need it to be a success to attract new hires to come to Endeavor. It's not a typical "your job to lose interview", you must prove yourself.

Personally, I'm hoping the first 500 or so pilots are not taking this SSP seriously and it moves up the list quickly....;-)

That's the truth. I gave my company 24 hours notice that I was resigning! Pinnacle considered everyone that resigned not rehireable, so, no big deal.

I did make sure my next trip was covered. As good karma would have it, the guy that covered my trip got hired a few months later. He's now the comm guy at LEC44!

Always been that way, ALWAYS gonna be that way.

But it's been mentioned multiple times. Show up thinking the resume will get you through and/or acting like a tool and it WON'T matter.

And I'll bet that just broke your heart.

Default Great news!

Great news for new hires...I remember the thrill of the invite letter, but then that only lasted for a few hours...then the reality of how much interview prep there was to get ready for made the weeks between invite and interview seem like....minutes!

best of luck to all...again, as many many have mentioned before it is all about your personality. your creds got you the invite, they just want to see what your personality is like.

One word to the guys getting invitation letters: Lumosity.

Seriously. Back when I took the Cog Test, some of the tasks were direct analogs to Lumosity games.

Is that really so surprising? I'd expect the super senior guys to pass or half heartedly fill out the app. I'd don't care what regional applying to what major. I'm sure beyond that batch things will change.
