And there's NO good reason for anyone to come to SLC. The winters are brutal, the air quality is terrible, and polygamy is mandatory (or so I'm told). Nothing to see here. Move along.

Anyone interview recently? The only days I heard being mentioned were the first two days of interviews. Thanks in advance

Just curious how the 401K plan works at Delta.
What company manages the plan and is there a good selection of funds available to choose from? Is there a self directed component available?
Also, how do the contributions (2% and 12%?) get distributed for you high earners that exceed the annual 401K contribution limits?
Thanks

Oh crystal ball, I have a question. If lucky enough to get the call from Delta, what bases are going JR? How long before one could expect to get into the DTW base?

DTW will most likely be available right away to new hires. Jr bases will be NYC and DTW, maybe some new hires to the 717 or 88 in ATL.

NYC has always been one of the most junior bases, due to a couple factors; the high cost of living (in a crash pad) and having to cover all 3 airports.

Not sure where all the 717's will end up, but if/when they get a bunch into DTW, it will get more junior. You might be a few years in NYC before you can hold DTW, as the guys senior to you in NYC, who want DTW, go there first.

Like everything else, this is all subject to change the next time the wind blows...

I'm guessing not long.

It's managed through fidelity...lots of fund choices and a brokerage link option for more advanced investing options including individual stocks and options. Roth available as well. Overall, it's a very good plan. Don't know about your second question, haven't had that "problem" yet.

Assuming you max out your 17,500 in 401k contributions, you have to gross over 220K to hit the 415 max of 51,000. Won't be a factor at Delta for most until you are over 50 and able to make catch up contributions.

Thanks for the info, nwaf16dude. One last question, what would be the aircraft a new hire would most likely be award? I understand its a moving target but take a WAG.

I'd expect that almost all of the new-hires will go to the 717 or the 88.
