Yep, I was serious. It looked to me like you were referencing your whole social. It's the last 4 with 9999 the most senior. It doesn't really matter as they'll put you in order anyway, it just gives you an idea of what choice you be able to hold equipment wise. Congratulations and welcome to Delta!

AF told me when I played phone tag with him a few weeks back that he would never "skip" someone without talking to them directly. Don't sweat it.

I was also flying when I received the call from Andy. I emailed him saying I would accept. I think that's good for his planning until you guys can actually talk to each other. He understands you have things going on.

Hey guys, for those of you in the last few indoc classes, how many days before class did you get the packet in the mail? I have heard that the info in the packet gives you the ability to access to Deltanet so you can go in and see all of the different aircraft and schedules to help determine what airplane you will try to get on day one.
I found on the forums that back in 08 guys got two packages from UPS about a day apart and they arrived a little over a week before the class start date. Does that still sound right?

With the June 1 class being only 40, does that mean that there will be 20 compass pilots bidding with the class but not starting for 3 months? So in other words will the class "drop" be 60 but only 40 in class? I've never understood that.

Our class last year had 50 show up but around 80 planes in the allocation. So yes they bid when they should have been able to attend indoc. I met several of these folks in NYC 4-5 months later when they had just finished up OE. That way they get their seniority and aircraft when they were originally in the que to go.

My understanding about the stuff that came via UPS was for existing pilots who bid into a new airframe getting their paper manuals. No longer. These days, all they send out is a thumb drive with the pubs and computer based training lessons. For New Hires, they give you that near the end of the first week of indoc.
Hope that helps.

Well rats. My over-planning mind wanted to look at 92 data points before I choose my plane and base, but I guess I'll just have to live in the moment. I've got a social that should put me about a third down the list so who knows. This drop will probably be 57 88s to ny and 3 717s to ny so no amount of planning would help anyway.
Thanks for taking the time to post all that info.

I got mine within about a week of starting via US mail. About half the folks in my indoc class didn't get theirs before they arrived for indoc. Not something to worry about. It will indeed allow you to access DeltaNet, but you may find that without a buddy to help you over the shoulder, it may be difficult to navigate to and understand the products - at least to the extent to influence a decision about what to take, should you be lucky to have a choice.
