What about lodging during indoc/initial training?
It was when I was hired but it's been a while. |

I think that's up to you to pay...?
It was when I was hired but it's been a while. Lodging is provided in indoc (the first two weeks.) Once you go to the sim, if it's in ATL you're on your own. If your sims are outside of ATL (e.g. the 717 down in MIA), lodging is provided. |

Newhires are being spread out to open positions on the 717, 88, 320, and 73N. I'm looking forward to the Feb 1 seniority list update and finally seeing NBC NEW B's on there again! I'm not looking to get hired again, and fly 717 F/O on my off days, just asking for a friend. ;) Although it would be pretty fun to interview again and see if they'd make the same mistake twice! Where's that damned rocking chair! Let me at it!! I'll rock your G'Damned Chair! :D |

Though they did see if I'd faint while an underqualified nurse dug around in my arm with a needle trying to find a vein. ;) |

Anyone know when the seat lock applies to the cpz flows, is it from the award date or when they start class?

There is no uniform stipend for new hires, correct?
So a newb will have to pony up about $250(?) for the double breasted horse blanket and $50 for the hat. I assume they've already got black pants and shoes, the white shirts are all over the map, but I got 4 at $16/each a few years back from PilotPete. Then there's the suitcase, which if you're coming off active duty you may not have. I just looked at PilotPete's website, the Purdyneets are now $289-359 depending on which model you get! Yeeoch! The shirts are now $18.95. Bring your wallet boys, this "airline pilot" thing is expensive! Glad I bought all my crap in the 1980s'...and it still fits! Well...mostly. |
Double breasted coat
Abbotts - $300 Crew Outfitters - $200 M&H - $150 approx prices |
In 2007 I was talked into the $700 "New-hire Special," at that shop near the Doubletree. This included the black raincoat I have yet to wear and the jacket that slowly lost every single button.
What a deal.:o |
