Delta sent this exact same email to some 2010 CJO recipients, almost word for word. Some are still waiting for a class date. Some are now "probably" going to class up in 2014 behind about 300-400 guys/gals. Some will never set foot on Delta property when their CJO expires...for a second time.

There will be announcement by April that hiring will be increased to 600+ for this year. They have to go back to the board for approval.
I know it is tough but keep the faith. |

Anyone know what the average ages are of the two(?) new hire classes so far?

Looks like 42 is the average, highest was 57 and lowest is 31. Of those, 20 are 40-50, 16 are 30-40 and 8 are 50+.
I wonder if that is by design, in that during the big hiring spree from 1985-1991, most classes average age was between 28 to 32, with a much tighter spread of only about plus or minus 5 yrs. from the average. That is why we see such a huge clump of guys now all around 55-65 in that colored dot chart. That's also why in about 5-10 years a whole bunch of guys (5 years worth of hiring) are all going to be hitting age 65. Maybe the company is trying to get a bigger spread so they don't run into another massive retirement bubble in 20 years? Now would be a really good time to be hired... at age 23!:D But 57? Had he already retired from Delta? |

First class since 2010, most senior, and youngest. Looks like you are set up for a Timbo kind of career! Congratulations.

Thanks for the info FTB and others. 31 to 57 is quite a spread.

Impressive. |
