Went through 320 CQ a couple of weeks ago, and schoolhouse word is that some new hires will be coming to the Airbus due to 717 delivery delays combined with a backlog in M88 training.

I would imagine 1) the compass guys will find out if the are being held back 2) more off the street guys get the 13 jan date next week. The background checks cleared letter says they will give us a 2 week minimum heads up.

Then again, who knows!?

Compass guys have not heard anything from Compass or Delta.
Very slim chance compass guys show up on the 13th as we have heard from our union of a possible 60 day hold back

Looks like Mesaba first 9 guys received calls from Delta on the 24th or 26th for the Jan 13th class date but no a/c assignment

Obviously this makes off the street guys happy, but what about the compass guys flowing? I would imagine this is a good thing? Still get your Delta seniority #, and a 60 day hold means more time on captain pay at compass and 2 less month on probation/first year pay at delta. Sounds like a win win?

It's a good deal for the guys in the first class. For all of us after that, we are losing seniority if they back fill with off the street guys. One of the latest rumors I heard was that the Jan 13 class was only going to be 14 people with no back fills. Just 9 Mesaba flows and 5 off the street. Aren't rumors fun! :D

Does anyone know how many remaining furloughs will fill Jan 13?

No idea, initially approx 130 were returning. The initial hiring plan was for 50 per month Nov, Dec, and Jan. If they stuck to that, there could be approx 30 furlough bypassers left for Jan.

That's why I asked. Two weeks prior to 13 Jan is ... about now. I should think we'll get a clearer picture very soon.

I think the next bit of solid info will come from Bohicagain re: confirmation of Compass holdback.

I thought they had to offer those positions to current pilots first. The unfilled vacancies would the go to new hires. Were there unfilled positions on the latest AE for the 320?
