Wow interesting. So they came in and revised the drop? Haven't heard that one yet! Welcome BTW!

So the bid that closed Monday must have guys filling the SEA and LAX slots they needed filled? Any bets on when we see a bid with unfilled M88A slots?

I know the true version of a very similar story, with no rumor involved. The pilot in question resigned from a full time AGR slot, then lost both FAA and Military Medical after indoc. Scary, since the pilot was a picture of health and a competitive athlete. The unit offered orders for a non-flying position during the anticipated yearlong recovery. It was a financial lifesaver for someone who just quit their full time job and would be on disability as a new hire for Delta.

The "Outstanding performance of the individual in the area of XYX, reflected great credit upon himself and the Unites States Air Force and demonstrated his ability to serve in the higher grade of O(x+1), resulting in 5 years of military orders. No ****, real world, this really happened.

On the outside, it looked like a new hire gaming the system, but was actually a quite different scenario. Not sure if this was the "rumor" in question, but it sounds eerily similar and could be easily mis-interpreted by anyone who didn't know all of the details.

From my experience the majority of us do our military duty on our days off from Delta. I fly an 80 hour month and do mil on days off...why? Bc the mil pays terrible compared to DAL and I can't afford to lose all that money. And honestly I still feel like I have a lot of time off! It's not rocket surgery to be a good reservist and a good employee....

Easy if you're single without kids and live in domicile or live at your unit. It's a much harder balancing act if you have a family and/or commute.

Is that a new hire bid? I guess the numbers next to aircraft type are seniority numbers within the class?

I've been with the airline for a number of years, and I put a lot of time into my Reserve career. I'm up front with Delta, send my orders for 30+ day commitments as far in advance as I can, and don't act like a jerk.

The only comments I've ever gotten from the CPO's office have been along the lines of, "Let us know if we can do anything to help you while you're gone." Playing by the rules and treating people with common courtesy goes a long way.

New hire here. Can anyone shed some light on how long until off reserve and average trip length (# of days) for the following:

ATL: 88, 717, 73?
Thanks
