Why Is dalpa in such a rush? You can be darn sure the company would drag its feet if that would help it gain leverage.
Remember what a shoddy product C12 was after being so rushed. Why would we want to repeat that?

Assuming you are correct about this (a huge stretch), why are we allowing the company to set the timetable?

Silly people and fear of seemingly small numbers.... 9% upon ratification and 9% on Jan.1 is an 18.81% increase on the amendable date; about 1/2 point ahead of C2K 2004 rates! Hooray, it only took 12 years. Profit sharing would not change for 2015 (like last time) so that adds another 19-20% on top of 2015 earnings, don't you just love the frosting on that cake!
Since we all love to speculate here, let's go with the PS plan changes on the bottom to move 5% over to the rates, (9/9/4/4 is actually 9/4/4/4). Therefore in 2016 you are being paid more than 2004 rates, and even though you lopped 5% off of the PS calculation, the projected payout (using the 2015 estimate), would still add roughly 14-16% onto that amount come February.Looks like quite close to C2K plus inflation.(and way ahead of the previous peak for PMNW pilots). Yes I think we would see C2K+14.5% at least for the 2016 year.
Given a status quo in the rest of the contract it's a no brainer. The interesting parts will be in other than Section 3, will we gain or lose? We've seen giveaways and gains in all different areas. Quantifying that will be the part that needs the most scrutiny.

Our executives ignored their expert Captain Steve Dickson and their own staffing experts on the non pilot side of the house when they told them to begin hiring.
Was it by design?
Some of the kool aid club would try to tell you concessions are necessary. That is simply not true. IMO Delta will make $6 billion this year and $10 billion in 2016 and beyond. Why would we consider permanent concessions??
If our leaders choose to help management out of a temporary jam it should be with short term help in exchange for premium pay and a hundred captain upgrades per month of relief.
We have given enough concessions to last a lifetime.
Jerry
NOT ONE PERMANENT CONCESSION!!!!

You've cleverly clouded and mislead with your PS payout comment. You note that "PS would not change in 2015 just like last time", well PS never did change in the first year of the TA. PS did change, however for the next three years.
Not sure why your trying to rationalize rumor and innuendo. Especially when we have barely even discussed compensation with the company.
Nice first post....

Why do we need to give anything away?
During bankruptcy when Delta guys took 46% pay cuts what did the pilots get in those negotiations for helping the company out? What was Delta's giveaway then? Was it PS?

Our execs have dug themselves a hole and they want us to save them. They are plenty smart enough to fix things without our concessions.
We need to slow down for the promised historic C2015. Not a penny less.

Again, tell me exactly what the reason is for dragging out negotiations and what leverage would be gained?
