G. Medical Release Requirement
1. The DHS or his designee may request further information from a pilot regarding his sickness or may require a pilot to provide a medical release when:
a. a pilot’s sick leave exceeds a medical release threshold, or
b. verification is required, or has been sought under Section 14 F. and the DHS is not able to assess the medical basis for the use of sick leave.
Note: Prior to requiring a medical release, the pilot must first be provided with an additional opportunity to submit verification that is acceptable to the DHS.
2. A medical release will be limited to a written authorization for release of medical information (release), provided the release is limited to the DHS for:
1a. the specific sickness for which the pilot claimed sick leave, and
2b. the day(s) on which the pilot claimed sick leave and the consecutive day(s) off immediately preceding and succeeding the day(s) on which a pilot claimed sick leave.

3. If, following the review of information provided pursuant to a medical release, the DHS is not able to satisfactorily assess the medical basis for the use of sick leave, the release may be expanded to include a Company designated doctor or other health care professional(s) and the Director – Health Services and the Senior Vice- President of Flight Operations.

Medical Release Threshold is 24 missed work days in a rolling 365 day period and 56 missed days in a rolling 3 year period. That equates to 128 hours in 1 year and 298 in a 3 year period.

Notice both releases are limited to the sick occurrences.

The myth that the company requires access to ones entire medical record is BUSTED

It would seem the only person getting BUSTED around here is you for attempting to omit details. When caught, "My bad" doesn't cover it as it appears it's not an isolated case.

Now, Please post ALL relevant information on this topic from the current contract and the TA. Title both of them and highlight the detail please.

Look at the road show schedule.

They will take 2 and 1/2 hours for their sales job.

And spend 30 minutes answering questions from planted friends.

These concessions are so complex we need a minimum of 5 hours for Q and A or until the last question has been asked.

I answered a question about 1e9 changes. I posted the relevant contract sections from this TA and POS96 to show nothing has changed EXCEPT the MEC Chairs ability to not approve the use of livery, logo, etc. for new stuff.

If you want more than that, sorry. You can gather all the relevant information on this topic from the current contract and the TA. Title both of them and highlight the detail, please, so we can all understand what you're looking for.

Thanks!

Tool:

I have read the new sick leave provisions and I two very specific problems. These are not MYTHS so please stop with the straw man argument and address the following.

1. The old contract (14 G) only gives the company the right for a medical release if they have a good faith basis to question a sick occurrence. The new contract gives them the right to require it anytime they want - either because you have exceeded the 15 day verification threshold and they don't like what your doctor sent in, or you have exceeded the medical release threshold.

2. The self verification option has beed removed.

Once you have to provide a medical release to an AME anything he sees has to go to the FAA. There is a real concern about a loss of privacy here. To sell this as an improvement to privacy as ALPA us currently doing is beyond disingenuous .

Let's stop giving sharpest tool legitimacy by responding to him.

He's either a management plant or a troll.

How do I ignore him? He is truly a tool!

I may have missed it but has anyone been able to get their hands around the new required reserve calculus? The examples in the TA vs the current contract are different so there is no way for an apples to apples comparison. I can't see a way to do that without the historical look back data that is used for the calculations. I was not a math major so I may just be dense. Does anyone understand this.

OK, that settles the sick leave hysteria.

I think the next issue that is causing massive consternation is the LCA line bidding changes. I will start gathering info and will be back to bust the myths and hysteria surrounding that section of the TA.

Tool, what is your purpose here? It seems the only one getting anything out of your comments is you.

I asked you to post ALL info related to this change. You didn't do that. You posted part of it then told me to go gather the rest on my own. You guys are cherry picking. Please stop.

While you are gathering ALL relevant information I have two other questions I posed to SharpestTool I would like you to answer while waiting for him.

1. Do you now or have you ever worked within the MEC?

2. Talk about the scenarios where the company or their third party medical admin can gain access to all individual pilot medical records under the current contract and under the proposed contract. Show details for both.
