Bender,

The Atlanta reps just sent out a letter where they acknowledge 3.B.4. They say that TA compensation rates in 2018 will be higher. This is true. I did the 3.B.4 math and only came up a percent or two below the TA with total compensation in 2018.

Have you asked your reps to show the union's math with 3.B.4 in play? I think they are reluctant to release it because the difference is soo small

Will the "increased" QOL make up for the TVM that extra 15.75% would have put the DC plan?

Since you've done the extensive research please enlighten us how much those "automatic" pay raises will be.
You're asking people to give up jV concessions, RJ concessions, bidding concessions and sick leave concessions so someone can have an 8% raise on July 1 instead of September 1st.

A good post from FB:

I was asked by one of our Chief Pilots in Atlanta last week...."You are going to vote for the TA...right?". He is actually just a nice guy and we were having a friendly conversation. His logic was that I'm in my last year and the old guys will vote for the TA. WRONG!!!! I am not going to leave everyone else with permanent damage in order to get a few extra dollars for myself. My opinion is that we shouldn't be making concessions to get a contract 6 months early. What is the rush? Don't vote out of fear. Vote No!!

What happens on September 1st? My crystal ball is a little cloudy.

Yes you get a raise in this TA. Im not arguing the money portion. Im more about the QOL givebacks, that do in fact have monetary impact.

I also don't want you to think that a no vote means its going to the NMB. You will get a counteroffer probably within 30 to 60 days in the form of either giving us some of our QOL provisions back, or sweetening the pot with higher pay. I hope we negotiate the former with the latter together, but that depends on how strong of a no vote we get. If they only have to change lets say 5 percent of the no votes to yes votes it will be a little tougher to bargain.
You know the interesting thing is if you adjust our Jan 2008 rates for inflation and compare to todays rate for say the A320A, it's a 41% raise in comparison but after inflation it's 28%. Divide it over 7 years and you get 6% pre inflation and 4% post inflation. That puts inflation more around 2%.

So wouldn't it be reasonable to believe that 8/6/3/3 become 6/4/1/1 and then takeout PS and 6/-2/1/1 by 2018?

Heck if I know. But nobody knows. But I know one thing, you need to buy an eight ball. Better than crystal balls.

Buy two balls. Better than one.

Bender,
3.B.4 will take the sting out of sitting with the NMB. The scare tactic of saying SWA got nothing and we will too is not valid either. Please ask about that as well...

Went to the ALPA table in the lounge today, pulled out some cash and ordered a hotdog and a soda. The rep smugly replied, "sorry?" I said that I wanted a hotdog and a soda. Puzzled non-response. I had to ask, "Isnt this the concession stand?" One replied, "we're here for serious discussion." Too bad you weren't there for that at the table! They should atleast have hotdogs and sodas, not to mention fireballs to help put the heat on the front side and cool the back side. Fruitless, but a fun way to vent.

I think all we have at this point is a seven ball.

Park away.
