Default Sad day for SLC roadshow

I went to the roadshow today and SLC seems to have a ton on DALPA guys. They love this TA. We still had a fair share of NO voters that asked all the right questions.
Delta is the most profitable it has ever been and I think this will be as good as it gets for my 22 years left.
Why are we fixing all the staffing issues for the company? Sad day at Delta for me. This is the best its going to get and this is what we are talking about? Makes me sick how the union guys will not answer the hard questions, they only say this is the best you can get. Not once did they say this is 8, 2.5 Jan 1st. They hide all the details. It's only going to effect 2% FO's for the IOE giveback. Come ON MAN, this is a joke! All this TA does, is fix their staffings problems. Why not vote this down? The company will still have there staffing issues. We have all the leverage. Let's not waste it on this TA. Please vote NO with me!

NO is the only option.

What kind of person would advocate for this epic failure??

Record profits equals record concessions?

Outlook Doubtful.

We can and will reject this TA. Then we will get the contract we so richly deserve.

Same thing at LAX - that is why the crowds seem TA friendly, most "No" voters have already decided and do not want to waste their time.

Let them present the roadshow to mostly DALPA guys and guys on FPL - they were going to vote "Yes" anyway.

SLC usually tends to lean pro whatever the union or company advocates. Plus the reps there are solidly pushing the agreement.

That said, the no guys are probably set in their decision and don't need to be lectured by the MEC.

The staffing fix that the TA fixes is tremendous. While Delta has hired 1200 pilots a year, it is rare to have 600-800 pilots retire in a year. This time it will occur without the threat of bankruptcy and loss of pension, and it can't be stopped (unless ALPA, A4A and Uncle Sam raise the age again). Once the training cycle goes into hire gear it will be there for several years.

Is it wrong to solve the staffing issue? No, but we could have done it better. Did we sell it too cheap?... This is an IQ test.

No voters don't need to attend a road show. Those voting yes only seek to justify thier bad decision in the company of fools.

Everyone knew SLC was a lost cause. Look at it this way, in a presidential race democrats don't campaign in Texas and Republicans dont campaign in California

We're going for the swing vote here. Places like SLC and CVG we write off as a loss from the get-go. No biggie. ATL is where this TA will be decided.

Management got paid BIG money to create the staffing and other issues , why on earth should pilots take any hit at all to fix what they broke.

No Management Bailouts.

exactly. Their problem not ours, and certainly not fair for us to take concessions. We are willing to help solve the problem but not for free (or in this case HUGE concessions).

I'm hoping this is akin to a political rally.
If you picked a stranger off the street, and had him listen to the roadshow, he'd question why anyone would ever vote NO. Get a SLC pilot who WANTS to vote yes, but is presented with evidence that points to a NO conclusion, this roadshow is just the medicine to let him sleep at night with his YES vote.
I heard they actually accused the other LECs of lying to their councils with their letters of dissent. It's a soothing salve to a troubled conscience.
