DPA Chairman?

I don't think they had the hammer until we just gave it to them. We have profit sharing way too large for the company taste which I continue to think is our best leverage but I'm sure when they over reached they thought whatever we can get into this TA will get a yes vote. They know differently now.

Yep, well I wouldn't vote for DPA either so you all vote for whoever you want. I won't go into what I know or think about Carl. He's turned this board into his bully pulpit through shear volume of posts.
I've always thought our best chance is a very strong ALPA with as many pilot groups in it as possible. Look around. Who's done a better job? I think ALPA has done a great job in many areas to make this industry so much better. They've also navigated through the toughest times in airline history with sometimes mixed results. Overall they've done a lot for me and my career. One call to aeromedical is worth all the dues you've paid if you need it.
I know it's unpopular here but I also think our best chance to get a good contract now is to rally behind the guys we have and let them use the hammer we've given them. I really don't see the reason for all the hysteria. They gave us a chance to vote yes or no on an early deal. You want it? This is the best we could get. If not we'll go back and do it the usual way.

The ALPA lifers took management's opener and TA'd it.
They totally ignored the surveys and all other line pilot input.
Those guys can NOT be allowed to negotiate any new deal.
How can they possibly go back in that room?
"This is the best we can do".
"We fired every bullet".
"No money left on the table."
"Greatest contract in history".
"Anderson punishes anyone who dares say NO to him".
"The next TA will NOT be better".
"Next step: P E B."
