I was hired back in 2010 so I am unfamiliar with Captain Malone. I am sure there are others that are in the same boat. Can you fill us in about him?

He was the negotiating committee chair for C2K and later the MEC chair. Some love him, others take potshots at him. His tenure as the MEC chair was during the lead up to bankruptcy. He is certainly qualified.

I believe he aligned himself with the DPA early on. So, he has been on both sides of the aisle.

I don't know him personally but, I believe heading into bankruptcy, he blinked. That said, who wouldn't. He had 12000 pilots counting on him.

The biggest issue for me is that we need someone who is a leader first, not a politician first. Is Malone that guy...I don't know.

Malone never blinked heading into BK, but he did lose an election to Moak. The losses in BK are on Moak's hands including the loss of the LDAL pilots retirement. John is a great guy who would never have agreed to the loss of retirement.

No other Delta pilot will bring us a better C2015 than Captian Malone. He will lead, set goals and communicate.

He can go toe to toe with our management like no one else.

His resume stands alone.

Long before JM was Captain Malone, he was the F/O LEC rep from DFW, which at the time, was almost as big as ATL. Then, Mo Ron closed the DFW crew base, the MEC voted in a new leader, and we have been going backwards ever since.

Mo Ron? Grinstein was at the helm in 2005 when DFW closed.

I think saying Malone never blinked could be debated. LOA 46 was under his watch, which included a 30 something percent paycut, as well as a gutting of our work rules, too numerous/painful to quickly regurgitate. The mantra pushing this LOA was "Do it once/do it right.". Unfortunately it didn't quite work out that way.

The Shadow MEC is working feverishly on finding a candidate they can control so they remain in power and on flight pay loss.

They will do anything to keep Captain Malone from being elected.

They care about one thing and one thing only, THEMSELVES.

Pretty sure that was GJerry's mantra before he decided to do "simplifares" among other things that caused us to do it "twice."
