Default Bring On Captain Malone

I completely understand the desire for a fresh new face in DALPA leadership.

That being said, what we need today is an experienced and proven leader who communicates like no other.

Captain Malone as been MEC chairman and Negotiating committee chairman. He can and has stood toe to toe with management. He sets and shares his goals and his timeline.

We need a strong leader, but management needs it more. Delta management needs a strong and unified DALPA. One that can deliver an agreement that the line pilots will embrace without hesisitation.

John Malone would be a very good choice.

Only if JM signs a no compete, and no national office agreement.

So long as the corrosive organization and its systems are left intact, the good people who start down the alpa path will inevitably, be compromised at the end of the day.

The individuals in place now did not start out to end up as alienated, disconnected, and subverting the will of the pilot group.....it happened as a result of the system and organization they found themselves a part of...

Who's going to work at ALPA national if every LEC and MEC rep/worker signs a "no national office" agreement? Just guys from UAL, Fedex, and the regionals I guess. There couldn't possibly be any unintended consequences with that policy.

anyone paying attention during the term of JM as mec chair could not help but recognize he had his eye on the prize.

sorry....but the reality of climbing the alpa ladder is EXACTLY why we have the dysfunctional reality of representation that presently exists.

Maybe it should be staffed by normal professionals.

I'm pretty sure that is exactly how it is staffed. I'm not 100%, but I'd guess the permanent worker bees who's salaries we hear all the ranting about outnumber the elected/appointed pilot positions.

I doubt very much of the day to day ops changes much based on who the natl chairman is.

yeah....its staffed with professionals....that have experienced none of the economic pain the average alpa line pilot has experienced over the last decade.

and the expectation is they somehow are going to even be capable of relating to our reality....let alone be able to effectively represent it?
