Besides, the 110 seat 717 is far more of a regional jet then the 98 seat E190 with double the range.

The E195 is proposed at the same pay rate, its a 737 competitor.

More like 500nm longer range. Still substantial but not double.

Yep. E190 has a 1000nm range and we're at 500nm. You haven't taken one further than 500nm have you? :D t/c

I did a ATL-PLS full passengers and 24.1 on fuel, we had an alternate obviously and it was 950 nm. I see AC operating the E190s we were supposedly getting going 1790 nm from YYZ-SEA, and, I presume you have an alternate to SEA. :D

That's where I get the double. I know FL did ATL-DEN in them which is 1040 nm but I think that was it.

But yes, we do have a rate for it. A crappy rate. And no actual airframes.

But semantically, we're awesome.

ERJ-145 was the Embraer Regional Jets.

Notice they dropped the ERJ on the 170-195 family. They called them the E-Jets to get away from the regional jet connotation, and rightfully so, just notice the range and capacity.

Check out the cockpit of the E2s, which I assume is what they're using

Still, I don't get why people don't think they'd replace mainline jets on routes if they were publicly slated to replace the 717 out west.

Yes, that was our um... I mean their longest route. If COS wasn't good or you needed a second alternate, no go.

And the new E2s are bigger too.

That's no ordinary RJ. Looks like this thing could do the tracks to England out of Boston.

I've done DTW-SAT, that's about 1250 miles. Full passenger load, full fuel, no alternate, 20 knot headwinds, landed with about 6.9 (<-- made up number, I don't remember exactly but it wasn't so little as to make me nervous).

You're sure kicking my butt on semantics, and I've never doubted your aircraft recognition awesomeness, but that doesn't really change my point.

Whatever these things are, they're not here, and guys would most definitely fly them for $200/hr.

notEnuf 10-17-2015 06:01 AM

And that's the point it's a $200/hr airplane like the 717. If the smaller version comes to mainline we have a CRJ 900 scale that is equal now. The E190 is tied to the CRJ900 in our current contract. That's a 76 seater and a 100 seater for the same rate.

It's 1250 probably flight path wise, 1214 straight line wise... and 1055 nm.....

... and 1000 miles further than one can endure the 717s pilot seats. :D
