Pilot's end of the month check is for 1/2 the reserve guarantee and paid at the hourly rate in effect on the date of that payment. So, a pilot raise on 12/1 would be reflected in the 12/31 paycheck.

Isn't the end of the month paycheck for us considered an advance on the next month and then the the check on the 15th makes the previous month right?

Ok, you guys are right. Got more important stuff to deal with.

One CA said that he kept his wife happy by turning over his paycheck to her every month. All was well until she found out about the other check....

Sort of reminds me of the guy's wife that called our reserve unit needing to speak to her husband. The guy had left the reserves over two years earlier and was still going to "drill" weekend. I guess it comes down to how you define "drill".

There was an rj captain where I worked who was a bit rambunctious. Called in sick a lot. Finally a very cool CP called to talk to him at home. His wife answers no he's not here, he's been on a trip for the last few days. No. He's been or sick the last few days. Busted.

But the worst I heard of was a CAL pilot years ago who was part of a crew of a DC10 that had an RTO and caught fire and burned to the ground in LAX. Except he wasn't there. He was out having fun with someone else. His wife however was at home frantic about her husband's airplane burning and people dying on it on the tv news. When he finally called home he evidently didn't know about the fire and so he claimed the flight was normal and all was well. He was busted.

I know a guy who used to bid three day trips and tell his wife they were four day trips. At the end of day 3, he "commuted" cross-country to shtup his not-wife and commuted home on day 4.

One day, an FA on his homebound flight was friends with his wife. She calls and says, hey, why is your husband jumpseating back from XYZ? Busted.

Any of you old Red Rudders remember Ted Lieber?? Diverted a DC10 into SEA to pick up his girlfriend and take her to the Mystic Orient?? When he retired he went to work for Great Lakes and flew past age 70. He once said he was paying for seven ex-wives?!? I said, "Ted you old salty skippers always told me if it flys floats or %#cks, its cheaper to rent!!! What happened to you?" First time I almost got beat up by a great grandpa!!

He flew 90+ hours the month before he flew west!!!
