Listen, the military guys love to live in the past, and do not harbor the same ill sentiments for the young guys getting out today. Not much has changed as far as qualifications to get in and train in the last 20 years. But for us former regional prop jocks, to get the $hittie$t paying job we needed 2500 total time, 500 ME, ATP, college diploma multiple references etc...... Now you can get a regional jet job with 10 minutes of kite flying. The folks in back see a white shirt and a tie and think they have a salty Delta skipper at the helm, if they only knew... Not speaking for the post you got upset with, but I think I get what he means.

No I read it all and I said I agreed with the "it's a move in the right direction" and it is but a insult is a insult period.
As a matter of fact Delta is probably the best and continually makes good moves but regional punks I'm sorry but I just don't get it. |
This new deal seems even better -- 20 fewer 737-900s in the deal. I don't think it's crazy to assume that means more 757s will stay on property than under the original TA-linked deal.
And we agree with Poo--RAH is NOT a Delta pilot. |
I guess "Plan B" pumping millions of $$$ into RJs was never really a plan at all but at best a bluff, more likely just standard negotiating 101, and at worst a lie. Its just sad that the NC bought into this crap and tried their very hardest to help DAL sell it to a wisely skeptical Pilot group.
I still find it hard to imagine how so many well meaning, good guys at DALPA bought into this hook line and sinker. Lets hope the new NC and MEC start thinking a little more critically and stop taking everything said in a negotiation as gospel, and realize that a negotiation is just that - a negotiation. Does anyone have the E-190 rates from TA2015? I can't seem to find them online anywhere and didn't save any of the contract emails.

Hey! How is that 50 seat RJ refurbishing line coming along? Are they cranking them out as fast as they can blow the dust off them?
: ) It never gets old!!!!! |

Thank you? Aircraft orders are not gifts to the pilots. That's not why they are ordered.

I think like a CP, he should have to fly one trip a month. Helps keep your feet on the ground in reality.
