Would you rather have their contract with their new TA, or what our contact would have been with our rejected TA ?...the real question is how much they really raised the bar.

How about state why you feel the above is wrong. The sky is certainly not falling. I make a good living. Do you however honestly feel the company wants to get this contract done?

The fundamental question is if living with a bad deal is preferable to living with no deal.

This pilot group, after decades of choosing the former..... has apparently decided to give the latter a try.

The fundamental question is how do we bring the company to the table to reach a deal that will ratify.

Fear is what removes power from a negotiating group, and Maddog is clearly hear to spread fear. We're not buying it. Even if the company sends the 3rd string to the table on Jan 29, it would mean only one thing... they are negotiating. Nothing more. And if they walk away then we'll take our 2016 raise in our 2017 profit sharing check, and you can kiss JD Power goodbye--you simply don't get JD Power-level customer service from employees you tell to F-off. Eventually they'll admit that the pilots are an essential element of the Delta brand, and it's the brand that generates revenue. Until then, we'll keep our profit sharing, sick leave, LCA trip buys, E190, new 737s, etc.

But you can keep the fear, we don't need it.

As with the choice to not settle for a bad deal..... this is a new path and experience for this group.

You will have an answer when it gets done.

You seem to be the only one with this sense of urgency. Why? There is no reason to get a contract done. It is amendable and has the potential for real improvement. Why would we end that opportunity and hand management labor peace for 3-4 more years for any thing like what we turned down? There is a new industry standard for our services, we need to pattern above that. Profit sharing will increase and rates will increase if we do nothing. The QOL will remain the same. What are you thinking?!

Profit Sharing: "Let it a ride". The company really doesn't like us cashing in.

I would argue that our greatest weapon to get them to the table is to be prepared to drag this out. When one side can display no sense of urgency, the goal is to drive the other side to urgency. They're trying that on us right now. We can apply the same tactic in reverse. It's all game theory in negotiating, and sometimes a counterintuitive move may get you to your goal the quickest.

Along the same vein as everyone else, this is NOT a fundamental question.
Why on earth you think it is a fundamental question?...well that IS a fundamental question. And one that leads me to wonder what fundamentals you have, if any, sailingfun.

The company was in a hurry to get to the table last summer because they were hoping to hoodwink us. Them stalling now is proof of that.
