Your 4 year old laptop is probably more capable than your Surface 2. I wouldn't keep my Surface 2 unless the company would pay me $100 to save them the trouble of dealing with reclaiming it. Even then I'd have to think about it.

I'd only keep the Surface if they gave it to me, and then only to give it to my 8 year old kid. It's an unsupported platform that is incompatible with almost everything.

It seems that the MEC is (against the advice of the NC, the administration, the attorneys, and the NMB) passing up a great deal to try for the perfect deal (which doesn't exist).
