An AE is called a “vacancy” in the entire rest of the aviation world.

Latest whispers are that the C Series will not be on the March 6 AE. Looking most likely like May-June AE vacancies on that.

Just-in-time manning, with a Network department that can't plan more than a month ahead? I don't see how this delay won't leave money on the table. They don't even have to train immediately (convert by 6 months, right?)... what's the harm in slow-rolling training on a handful of crews? Completely new airplane (to us and almost new to the manufacturer), new vendor, new avionics...I'm shocked that they aren't trying to get in front of this thing with the massive seniority list we've finally built up over the last several years.

Wonder if they have enough instructors. It would explain a delay in making it available. No top men here, just idle musing.

I suspect if true it simply means that the first jet will arrive in Nov. with delays that might be as soon as they can get them. That would mean a Dec in service date.

They are probably worried about a repeat of the 717 start up....trained crews + no airplanes = summer off with 72hrs pay per month, sign me up for that!
