Seriously Sailing? Don't look outside on visuals? On what anecdotal evidence are you basing that?

Glance over and look next time at the pilot flying.

You are correct the stick on the PNF does not move in conjunction with the PFs.
The Thurst Levers do move if you want to use it manually, great thrust levers, just disconnect them.

Never seen a pilot not look outside during a visual approach. Sailing, it takes about 2 years to get used to the bus, if you have never flown an Airbus and you are only doing a few TO/LDGs for international ops.

If you are seeing these things than training has really changed and you should talk to PD and DL.

That's because we don't teach "visuals" especially on the bus. Everything is an instrument approach. Incidentally, I have noticed the same thing on the 88 for years...

I am the PF. Been on the Bus for about 20 years. Don't fly a visual any differently than I did in Boeings or Douglas aircraft.
I assume you are checking out on the big bus. Hope you are not planning to be an LCA with such a negative attitude towards the system.

Your argument falls on its face here. The thrust levers were full forward the entire time which gives you manual maximum power, and the ECAM and FMA confirmed producing TOGA power. Not sure what other visual cues you could want to verify the power setting in that situation... other manufacturers sure don't give you anything beyond that.

Agreed on the stick.

That's called being a terrible pilot.

Perhaps some time spent on the little bus flying 5 legs a day would have been beneficial to them in realizing it's just an airplane and does airplane things just like other airplanes.

On a side note, when considering your bids for the upcoming AE/displacement, it has been announced that the 330 is returning to Africa later this year out of ATL.

Bidder beware.
