That's nothing unusual going forward unfortunately... At least it's still fairly easy for FO's to move out quickly for now.... Captains, not so much

That all makes sense. Got to pay your dues. I totally understand.

Default Updated Gouge?

Anybody with an updated gouge? Have my interview in a few weeks and want to be as prepared as I can be.

Have a pulse. Shower within the last month or two (they'll waive that if promise to wear the hat)

Seriously though, just show up with all your paperwork in order and have a good attitude, you'll be fine. And don't wear the hat.

We don't give CJOs just because you have your paperwork in order along with a good attitude. Interview is no means a cakewalk. Please don't come in with that attitude. Study the gouges. We have turned away candidates not being able to pass a section in the panel.

You've been living under a rock if you think we haven't lowered our standards. The quality of applicants has fallen quite a bit. It is really easy to get hired here. I know a guy that had three check ride failures, no college degree, never flown commercially, no turbine time, but was IFR current and ATP eligible. He is a middle aged career changer that wanted to get out of a cubicle and was hired by us.

Unless being a recruiter here means living under a rock then you are correct. Our applicant pool vary from high time military all the way down to ATP-CTP guys. Check ride failures don't automatically mean low "quality." Hell, even Delta hire guys with checkride failures. So are they also lowering their standards?

I'd say three busts on your commercial check ride would indicate something.

I flew with an FO that was talking about a guy in his class that showed up to his oral with no manual updates done, no Jepp revisions done, no company memos read and somehow still passed. That is a good definition of lowering standards, and quite frankly, it scares me. Then again, that was ancient history back when we used paper... Lol

Default 10 Aug 17 Interview

I have an interview on the 10th. I have a pulse most days. I took a shower today, I hope that counts.

Looking forward to the interview experience. 7K TT 6K PIC, 4K PIC Turbine 3900+ 91K, 135 PIC. Not bragging, just been around for 56 years.

Any recommendations? I'm a older fart so I would stay until I retire. You young folks have 1 less to worry about going elsewhere.

I'm thinking CR9 in LGA. If / when I get a choice.

I was informed that the next new hire class on the 21st of July was full with a list of standby. So much for that one. IDK how many are o shows. Next NH class is the 9th of Sept. Kind of long wait. Oh well.

I have 3 interviews lined up after the 10th. They are all interested yet who knows what will / can happen.

When they open ATL to the CR9 how will that work? I know they will say they need x CA's and X FO's. My question is what kind of ripple effect will that have on the other bases?

If I'm in LGA and they open ATL to the CR9 and people leave LGA for ATL does my relative seniority, move up?

How does opening a new base like when they opened ATL to the CR2 affect those left in their original base?

My guess is LGA, JFK are relatively JR CR9 bases? How long would one be on Reserve? I have heard some get a line after a moth or two. I'm just feeling out the water.

Next question is how likely is it that DAL will make the "bonuses" covert to additional hourly rate after Dec 2018?
