While not 9E, this has been my response to anyone questioning my red and green epaulettes:

HA, I’m glad to see there’s other Archer fans out there. On another note I’ve never seen so many guys get triggered over Christmas epaulets. I guess they’re up there with long sleeve shirts.

I'd rather they keep the food and pay me time and a half for working the holidays... but that's just me.
I'd also like a nice hotel with a good choice of restaurants walking distance, but it seems we keep dropping those in place of ones next to the airport with a fridge and microwave instead.

True, I don’t understand why we can’t hang on to a hotel that has options nearby. I hate being held hostage to the hotel restaurant. And yes I know in some cases the hotel shuttle will drive or we can use Uber.

That’s why I keep saying, pilots and FA should stay separately. Let them have their 2 minute van rides and fridges. I’ll go 5 miles up the road where I am not forced into an $12 cheeseburger at the hotel restaurant. I always tell people don’t apply to mainline if you enjoy staying as close as possible to the airport which it seems a good portion of our FA do

It sounds like it's the FAs causing the problem with hotel changes. Maybe push the union to disconnect the pilots and FA and drop the downtown trigger to 15 or 16 hours. If the FAs are so obsessed with in room fridges and short van rides, then they can stay at the howard johnson next to the airport. Although I can understand wanting a simpler hotel with a fridge/microwave in the room. It's more about location. A hampton inn downtown or near a lot of stuff is a fine compromise.

In their defense, they often have overnights that are 10 hours or less. When I’m on a very short overnight I appreciate a hotel that’s close to the airport.

Agreed. I'm the same way.
