Yeah hats are triggering for some. Any mention makes them lose control of their faculties and their thoughts start swiming in a rage-filled haze.

Management uses the hat like a matador uses a red cape. It distracts us from noticing the sword.

For a lot of people it’s either you’re a company man or you’re with the pilots. It’s made into a bigger deal than it is and people put underlying issues behind it, flow, Delta issues etc. I stopped wearing it simply because a few people ridiculed me about it. Harmlessly; but enough to stop wearing it. Mostly junior guys wear it because TW usually comes in to new hire classes and talks about getting it as you’re getting fitted for uniforms, after they get a little seasoned you notice they stop wearing it.

I think we need to be more worried about our compadres with Velcro shoes, wrinkled jackets that haven’t been dry cleaned in years, the ever popular backpacks, and Christmas colored epaulettes than whether or not someone dons the hat.

I just see the newbies wearing the hat & laugh why would you wear something you don’t have to ???
I will wear one when it’s required and make fun of others who wear it when it is not.
To each his own
Had a CA at a previous life actually have a hat made (when the company did not even have a hats) just so he could wear a hat & throw it on the hotel van dash

I am just happy we don’t have the hat police yet......

I’d argue the contrary. If a company approves the wear of such epaulettes, it remains quite professional.
