Mid-April CJOs were originally scheduled for 9 July new hire, then received phone calls from pilot recruiting with the news they were being pushed back to September. No further word on when in September.
There are lots of things in flux right now. The July bid included SILs (special incentive lines), which amount to 25 hours of guarantee and the whole month off. These were supposedly the results of new efficiencies in the schedule and temporary overages in the offered categories. Also, DAL has plans to publish a bid on 3 July, which MAY include the MSP closure of M88s, meaning a host of mandatory and voluntary displacements, as well as secondary displacements. All of that internal movement is going to drive training requirements. It is possible that once DAL has a better idea of their training needs that they will then reschedule that new hire class, etc.
Per previous form, DAL usually sends out notice of new hire class about 5 weeks prior to its start, so the earliest notice of a new hire class will likely be the last week of July (30 July notice for a 2 September class).
