Plenty of screens rotting in the desert to harvest.

I was still trying to figure out what he was getting on about with the 737. I wanted to say, "No guppies here man."

So other airlines are starting to look at using CRJ550 on high yield routes for premium rates. Would pilots be paid at CRJ700 rates or suddenly get a pay cut to 50 seat rates?

If flown by 700/900 pilots it would have to be paid at 76 seat pay rates. If they created another pilot group for the 550, it could be paid at 50 seat rates. See LOA 4.

Got a ride on one of these out of ORD during my last commute home.

Very spacious, lots and lots of carry on room. The bulkhead between 1st and "Comfort" is a stowage compartment for larger carry-on. No gate checking anything.

Far and away nicer than the 200 interiors or any EMB135/145...

The CRJ 200s also had nice big closets originally when they were 440s, just like the 440 and the EMB-175SC the goal from management is to eventually get a scope give since the aircraft are already on property to add the seats back. This time it seems that the pilot groups at the respective mainline carriers have a much better idea of exactly how big of a sham that is.

With the extraordinary high CASM that those will have, we'll see if they stay around if UAL doesn't get the ability to add seats to them.

I don’t think you can just add seats if there’s a scope give.

Depends on what that give is. Those Pinnacle CRJ-440's got changed to CRJ-200's and had the closets yanked and 6 seats replacing them pretty darn quick as soon as the NWA bankruptcy process allowed it.

There is still a bunch of 200s with a 440 stamp online.
