Default New Hire Training Pay

As a new hire, what is the training pay now? Any per-diem during training? I have a interview in the near future and I was looking for this info ahead of time. It is worth having your own car there during training. Any backlogs for sims and IOE? Thats for your help!

You don't really need a car. The hotel for initial training is within walking distance of the Mall of American and a Walmart. They provide transportation to and from all training events. You are MSP based until you finish training, so no per diem.

When it's sim time, you can get by without a car in Eagan. That being said, you'll miss your car by the time that you're done in Eagan.

On the plus side, it's often not too expensive to rent a car at MSP if you have to get out.

Kinda far to the mall during ground school. Even further when you move to sims at cae. But the shuttles are pretty good at taking you where you need to go. Lots of stuff in walking distance. There isn't a backlog in sims however the scheduling may have you sitting a week at the most.

But if you do want to rent a car.. You can easily get one under 30$ a day.

How long is the training footprint? Being married with kids back home at CVG, would I be able to commute home on the weekends to be with my family? I'll be dropping an app for Endeavor in the near future and this information would be valuable. Thanks for the help!

90-120 days. Depends on how much dynamic training scheduling screws you. Then depends on how backed up IOE is. For a while last year, guys were going 8 weeks between LOE and IOE. Pretty sure they're caught up now though.

Does dynamic training allow for positive space flights to and from home for breaks of 2+ days?

Several new guys have told me about being held hostage sitting in the hotel for weeks "just in case something opens up" They are definitely getting worse about letting you go home during Sims. Plan on being gone the whole time.

They did that three yrs ago and the union put a stop to it, but someone has to call to get the ball rolling.
