2024: No Summer Flows?

Delta literally had already ordered e190s... Airbus took care of those as part of the 220 order. The training department had already begun prepping for 190s.

Outsourced E190s are not and have never been compliant with Delta pilots' scope.

"ordered" or not, the process had begun.

I began the process to order a Porsche GT3rs, but I did not actually order it.
Anyway, those e190s were not "orders." They were used. Beaten like rented mules. Not ordred off the line. They were the free undercoating thrown in to sweeten the pot for a 737 order and to be flown at the mainline...until DALPA slapped Delta into reality.

Delta expected ALPA to negotiate for higher rates on the E190s. ALPA had higher priorites, and basically said, good luck trying to hire onto an E190 with below-market rates.
It was an odd situation where the company basically would have had to use its own negotiating captial to obtain a higher 190 rate. They decided it wasn't worthwhile, and instead focused on/plussed up the order for what become A220s
