It's ink on paper guys, written by daddy delta management. Not rumors.

If you think these official plans will not follow through because "regional industry is always changing" then more power to you, if it helps you sleep better at night then have at it. While nothing is ever written in stone, odds of this fleet reduction not happening are incredibly slim, the math is written on the quoted post above.

I wouldn't write a letter to recommend a friend to come over to 9E.
I agree, this is what's planned, and should be used for decision making. My point is it's not an absolute. When I went to Mesaba 9 years ago, I thought I made a good decision based on my available information. I would've never guessed I go through two bankruptcies, and be purchased/given to Pinnacle.

If any new hire makes their employment decision based off this website then I don't want them at my airline anyways. Everyone here is a self branded expert when in reality no one has a GD clue what will happen anywhere. The egos in this industry are what will make it implode. Any regional you go to right now is a crap shoot, yes, even the almighty skywest and compass. My advice to prospective new hires is to have fun on this forum, but take it all with a grain of salt. Seek out current pilots for a face to face, this is the last place to come for career advice.

If this is true, then I give up on trying to understand what Delta is really looking for. I just hope he doesn't do something stupid like kick the back of a senior 777 capt. chair while in the sim, like our other shining example of pinnacle did over at the FedEx training center...

If that were the case, why is the kicker an Airbus FO now? Fabricated story from a rejected applicant. Be careful who you try to slander because they might get asked about you when you are interviewing somewhere.

Slander? Never said his name, but you seem to have heard the same story I heard. So is the story false? Why is kicker an airbus FO now? Did I say he got fired? He's an FO because he kicked the back of a senior capt chair during a training event, said capt got ****ed made a phone call, got said kicker booted out of training dept, and now said kicker is enjoying the line. Am I wrong? If so please set me straight, because this is the story I got from numerous people. And kicker doesn't know me, so if I ever decided to apply to Fedex, I doubt they would ask him about me.

So being booted from a pro instructor position making 80k to a line position that he wanted anyways making 100 plus 2nd year without having to even interview for it is "punishment?" Damn I wish my parents took that advice

Wow. You have about 5% of the actual pieces of the puzzle.

stay out of this Beavis, don't ruin a good story in these times when morale is low!

but as a side note, if there is one thing I have learned in this industry, is most of the "bad guys" (not all) are given this reputation by some false rumor started by a disgruntled troublemaker. Like the guy I personally saw red screen 2 v1 cuts, forget half the single engine QRH, and and run off the runway after a zero flap landing, then tells his buddies in the crew room "he busted me because I forgot to turn on the cowls on the approach in icing for like 20 seconds."

Or the types that call in sick on every holiday that ***** we need a Dr note, or the guys that ruined our "days off for interviews" just to get days off....

Ok guys like I said, if I'm way off (or only 5% correct) set me straight... Again I didn't "know" kicker, besides asking him one question about 7 years ago, and thought he was a jerk, so when I heard from numerous guys about him kicking the guys chair, the story seemed to fit the bill. Higney, my PM is working just fine, and I'm not one who likes to believe rumors, so i'd like to hear the 95% I'm wrong about.
And mooney I agree, there are ALWAYS two sides to every story, especially when it involves a pink slip.
