DAL Increasing interviews.
Received word today that DAL is increasing interview "opportunities":
Good Luck!
We are writing to inform you that there are additional interview opportunities available for February and March. Due to an ambitious future flying schedule, we are increasing our training classes during the spring months and this necessitates interviewing additional candidates. This increase also offers the opportunity of joining the Delta Flight Operations Team sooner than expected.
We interview every weekday except Friday and openings exist for each of these days in February and March. We encourage you to interview at your earliest convenience in the coming weeks.

From the company.
Looks like they're putting together larger classes to get the line staffed for summer. Saw a bunch of folks get March classes that were expecting them to be full - see the thread about DAL March classes.

Spoke with a DAL pilot friend of mine that said if the merger with NWA takes place, the combined mess will need 400 more pilots right off the bat. First time I ever heard of a merger working in favor of the pilots. He said it was because once the DAL staffing rules get imposed on the NWA folks, the'd be understaffed by 400.
Anybody else heard this?

They are planning on running classes of 50 each in March. I'm not sure if that will continue through remaining months or not but it sounds like they need 400+ by summer. Great for applicants and great for current pilots.
