that might not be so since my friend said a couple of his newhire (MIL)classmates are struggling in the sim , need many sessions, and get this . had an attitude that went like this, " hey man aren't you going to study this stuff?"
fighter jock," nope, they'll teach me what i need to know." DOH!!
in fact, here's comes one more across the bow. it was military guys walking in their entire stack of squadron buddies resumes that got the "walk it in" beaten back... thanks, pal.
I can appreciate doing that entirely, but pal, we're not at war... we're on J75 to OMN and you have another soul in the cockpit, so the best of the best crap don't fly

The bottom line is that DAL wants good pilots and good people.
During my initial training I saw both former MIL and former CIV guys/gals do well and some struggle. Fighter guys have a harder time with the crew concept thing. Other MIL guys (heavy, like myself) were a little taken aback at the chaos on the ramps. No, command post is not there nor on top of things.
That being said, I also noticed that some of the CIV guys were challenged with aircraft size and performance but a little more adept at the commercial flying culture.
Check your egos at the door, once your on the line we're all the same...and nobody cares.

The flying is totally different...but once we are in the sim....we are both MD88/75/76 etc pilots.

USN C9B: that SNL video was priceless. can't believe I missed that one.
if we throw out the civ/mil tag and just talk about humility vs pride in the cockpit , i have found that the minute I don't think I'll ever make another mistake and therefore not need my buddy's helpful set of eyes, I am setting myself up for a huge gaffe.. ' hey Jim, didn't he say Direct DNGBT?
you put in DCKHD
Jim, "clears his throat, er, uh , yes , er, uh I think so, ask him again.."
hey, jim, i'll do that , you just fly ...

11 Letters of internal rec including management pilots
9 years working for DL in almost every capacity
(almost never sick and no discipline letters)
2 1/2 years of being a Mad Dog ground school instructor
4000 TT
5 years to upg at ASA so thus I have low 121 PIC
Many others hired with no 121 PIC/lower TT than me - Hired
BB spoke to both JS and AK on my behalf

That sure isn't right. Are you on DL leave? If you are still on the property you probably have a pass to go ask Mr. K directly what might be going on. I've got friends with similar backgrounds who have climbed on board and done an excellent job.
Good luck. IMHO we should not leave an internal on the street.
