Yea that's 100% incorrect.

The captain was a very nice guy, original pinnacle. The weather was terrible and after running the risk assessment matrix with SOC, they determined the flight was just barely good enough to go. They were both in agreement that if anything got worse, they would be diverting to the alternate. Along the way, they followed up on the weather and decided it was good enough to shoot the approach and attempt the landing. Upon landing on a contaminated runway with gusty winds the plane began to skid and he lost control of the airplane. He said afterwards the way he should've known the braking action was not good as reported by the earlier landing mainline Delta flights was because when the controllers would tell them to get off at specific taxiways, they would reply unable . The company said the only way he could've regained traction would have been by reducing the use of reverse thrusters but stood behind him and his actions because he had done everything in his power to assess all aspects of the situation and proceeded as safely as possible.

There are many important lessons to be learned from that incident for all of us. I understand how people can be anti-colgan/mesaba/who ever but bashing an entire pilot group seems completely baseless when this could've been anyone at any airline.

They didn't actually go off the runway. The nose of the A/C was over the runway side markings. They landed in Nil conditions when it was reported good BA. This crew was not at fault and handled the situation very well.

Not wise to comment or criticize on things you know very little about.

I thought the XJ training was very good. I think its safety record shows it. When I got to Delta I loved everything about the Airline, everything was better than XJ. As it should. Except one thing, the books were horrible. The are getting better but...
88 training was average, had a couple crappy instructors out of 8-10 guys. DC9 training was good. 737 training was hands down the best instructors and training I have ever seen. Although on the line our 737's are having a difficult time lately.

I wasn't drawing conclusions as to the cause I merely repeated some hearsay thought that's what this board was all about pilots and non pilots gossiping about the aviation business. I never assigned any blame for anything. Also not sure why getting the background of the pilot wrong makes the story 100% wrong. The topic was brought up due to the recent delta incidents they may also be blameless.

We were just updated that 5 are scheduled to start class on Monday and they are going to focus on Feb class now.

For those wanting to come here Morale is horrible. The majority of people hate showing up to work and are doing what they can to get out. Everything else has pretty much been said about pay and QOL. We are waiting for a vacancy that should be out around the 10th in order to see if we are downgrading more or if we will re-upgrade some of the downgrades.

Any updates from the DRC and the Block interpretation?

My last 9E PC was 11 hours start to finish, with all the airwork done at JFK.
My PC this month is a 4-day event. That is stupid. Ruins my whole month. Mesaba loves to waste your time- 10 hour LOFTs, 3 day recurrent ground, 4 day PCs....The old Pinnacle way was much better.

Yeah, try to ask a question in Pinnacle ground school, given tons of crap by other ground school attendees not to waste time so we can get out early.

Of course, we always stayed to the FAR required ground school time

If you said you were solely business by the book just checking, as say it should be, they would complain that you set a bad tone or something. Can't please anyone. I think 80kts is just upset that Shyguy makes more disgruntled 9e posts than he does.
Miss me already?
