Ah yes, and yet another one who has this all figured out. Have you given any thought to how Skywest Inc. might react to this rate reset?

This could go one of two ways: 1. SkyWest could pull an Air Wisconsin and give Delta the stink eye and continue on with the United and now American flying. 2. Delta could offer to waive the rate reset in exchange for the wind down of ALL the ExpressJet flying, transferring the 700's and 900's to SkyWest (yes both Delta's AND United's) Delta has shown multiple times already an interest in disrupting United's feed. (Colgan and Chautauqua)

The rate reset wont hurt SKW as much as you think.. 9e's 200 leases are more costly then Inc.'s... And its realy your "crew rates" on the 900's that hurt us. But thats just a fraction of overall operating costs...

Won't hurt Skywest is correct. Good thing they are non-union, no need to go to bankruptcy to lower your pay.

No that is not the current prevailing opinion.

I've thought a lot about this...

SKW will tell Delta no thanks on the 200 flying when the rate reset happens. The reason? SKW needs those pilots in more profitable frames, the new E-jets on order. It doesn't make sense for SKW to keep hard-to-find pilots in the 200, especially if they are close to losing money.
I also think that the legacy ASA Delta flying might substantially decrease or go away completely... the reason being they are losing massive amounts of money as a company, dragging Inc's bottom line down with it, and again, those pilots could be put to better use elsewhere.

What are you trying to say? That rate reset was only between Skywest Inc. and Delta. In my opinion that is what started Delta on this path to get two cheap contract carriers.

Nothing against anybody, I'm just curious if the contract had any language in it barring delta from artificially lowering rates via subsidizing a wholly owned.
It would be pretty dumb to not see that possibility even back then.
