You are the d;ckweed generation that I hope is long gone by the time I get to Delta. 2nd class citizen to the gold buttons? Wow.. who says that? You've let this job get to your head and it's taking up the entire flight deck.
I've had the pleasure to fly with a lot of Mesaba/Pinnacle pilots who are amazing pilots who are great guys/gals. I also know that the majority of the FOs over there are fantastic and you would only be so lucky to have them as your FOs at the great and mighty Delta.

What did they gamble? The money they are saving now with 9E more than paid their initial investment. This isn't like Comair where the purchase price was huge, they plucked 9E from the thrones of BK for cents on the dollars just to keep their regional lift in tact until they could come up with other plans (bigger RJs, 717s, other carriers). A flow isn't the answer either, weren't you prior Mesaba? You better readjust your expectations if you are waiting for a flow. A preferential interview is probably as good as it is going to get, that is even a stretch for FO's. I'd be more than happy with the current situation if they are able to upgrade 300 a year (as many as they take in the SSP) so FO's could eventually interview. A 50% acceptance rate is still fairly generous when compared to what other regionals are getting into Delta. If you are waiting it out you also have to come grips with the possible Comair outcome (a generous severance package). Anything other than that and you are fooling yourself.

Delta shelled out so much cash that it was kinda of like a loan shark deal. They owned 9E after BK, they didn't gamble anything. They were preserving feed.

How much of the list is eligibile for the SSP at this point? If its only half of a shrinking list and a lot have went through either way so far, seems like it'll be a moot point until they start upgrading in large numbers (if ever).

Hope that wasn't sarcastic other than, Delta didn't really shell out anything. Not even worth a rounding error in the tax returns, But yea that was on par with a deal with the mob... and we see the results. I'm surprised Compass/Tran States Holdings hasn't been similarly hosed.

It got down to basically all the lineholding captains ( keep in mind there were quite a few that haven't bothered to apply yet either ) but the November list of names starts allowing the first of the come back in a year names and word is they are cutting it to a 6 month wait, so yet again the reserves get hosed if that's the case. But either way, they are getting close to the bottom of all the captains here... likely that will happen even with the repeat interviews sometime in early 2015

They never were in C, they are next door, and I haven't heard that yet... I wouldn't put it past Delta though.
