Default Pass Travel

Corporate communications email got me thinkin. Why do other Delta Conx carriers get buddy passes i.e. SkyWest, but we don't?

i know things fluctuate, but what are current classes getting as far as bases and 200/900…
I'm about to update my airline apps and would consider a lateral move YV-9E but really want nothing to do with the -200… base I don't really care about it as long as I'm a -900 driver

Regarding ATL. As said a few posts above, it's only us and ASA. If you don't get it initially you will have it after a hopefully short wait. It could be offered to newhires eventually, but not likely right now. If it means a few weeks of a commute, so be it IMHO. ATL is scheduled to keep growing this year, so it's a matter of time before you do get it. Is it worth holding off until you do get it? I wouldn't, every two weeks is another 20 or so seniority numbers lost.

Regarding 900. Dependent on age, and the age to get it varies each class. There isn't a seatlock, if you get 200 (shock, horror!) you can bid off upon completion of IOE. Again, maybe you won't get it right away, but it won't be long to hold it.

LGA is the destination of newhires, but quite a few in training right now have been awarded JFK, DTW, and MSP.

All the bases have 200s and 900s except ATL, ATL is 200 only.

9E will be a great move for you coming from YV. However, only someone who is not paying attention to the fleets would choose the 900 at this company. Perpetual RSV and lack of movement aside, it's a great plane. That's all I have to say about that.

LGA9 most junior line holders for June spent around a month on reserves. JFK2 is looking like 3 months plus.

So, got the job offer...July 10th start date. Leaving a high paying corporate gig to give this airline thing a whirl. Very excited and also nervous but this forum has been a great help.

Some lingering questions I have: I want to minimize my time on reserve in NY and get ATL as soon as possible. Let's say the short's reserve is -900 LGA at 1 month as a previous post said.

1. If -900 LGA is at 1 month reserve what is -200 LGA reserve looking like?

2. If I go to class on the 900, and want to switch to -200 ATL how hard is that to do? How long is transition training and how does your schedule/pay work when transitioning?

3. If I decided to stay on a line in LGA instead of going ATL reserve (either 200/900) how long would you think it would be before getting a commutable line or a descent amount of days home in Atlanta (say 11+ days home a month)?

Thanks to all who have answered all my other questions, airlines are a strange new world to me.

900 reserve is much longer than 200 reserve in NYC my 900 classmates are still on reserve I've had a line for three months. If you wanbbid the 200, 900 to 200 would require a seat lock of sorts for 12 months.
