For the ATL 900 FOs, with that amount of short leg flying out of ATL, can you folks actually average 85-90 block hours per month in normal circumstances ? Or is it impossible ? Especially for someone who’s very junior.

Junior atl900 line holder.. Min days off and lucky to hit 77 credit hrs. Even during credit push...actually dunno if September was a credit push but still. I have 3 days next month where I break min day...and it's not by much.. 30 min over is the most

Doubtful. Hiring is just starting to ramp up at the majors. That will only make our staffing situation worse.

Sorry i’m asking this question from the point of view of a junior fo so feel free to correct me if i’m wrong. Doesn’t that mean more attrition which leads to less pilots at EDV which means more flying assigned for each pilot ? Wouldn’t that make trips more efficient ? Or is it the nature of flying that EDV does (mostly short legs) that would make it harder for the trips to be more efficient?

The scheduling is very inefficient. Lots of days worked with few hour per day. It's common to see just two legs a day blocking less than min day (4 hrs pay). I don't know why they don't improve efficiency. We also get a fair amount of 10-12 hour duty days that are only 4 hours of credit. |
