Tough question seeing as I don't know anyone who commutes from AK.

If you want a line - get the -200. You quality of life on reserve with that kind of commute would be borderline devastating.

Show up with a good attitude and a willingness to learn and you'll be just fine. See you out on the line!

This is where we look to see if you are logging time correctly. If you are logging SIC in a King Air 200, or PC12, and there is NO Ops Spec for an SIC, do yourself the embarrassment, and just redact that time from your book. If not, you will be called out on it, and if you no longer have the required twin time, you will be sent home.

I believe a certain large home supply store's corporate department was/is doing this with their "FOs". When I asked those pilots what their basis for logging any time in a single pilot part 91 aircraft their reason was the "insurance required two pilots." That seemed pretty sketchy to me, and it sounds like it's complete hooey from what you're saying.

What would the commute be like from SEA to MSP?

What is a realistic first year pay number? I know 50k is the minimum.

Definitely bring your flashlight like someone else has said, and you'll still need all your manuals until IOE is done. That and be open to the many different techniques you'll be taught out on IOE. Every LCA I've flown with has been awesome on the 200, and I'm sure it's the same on the 900 so just have a good attitude and it'll be fun.

So I've been told I'm the handwriting equivalent of a WWII Codetalker - I can read it just fine but it's like encrypted gibberish to others. For this reason I was going to put everything in electronic form (LogTen Pro X). Is going through that effort worthwhile if the paper logs are still handed over as well? And do I need to maintain both going forward if I do the transition?

I commute from PDX but sometimes go through SEA and have found it reasonable.
