Default DTW

Any recent hires on the 200 or 900 in DTW care to talk about reserve times? Did you get it DTW fairly quickly as well?

If you don't get DTW in training, you should be able to get it on the first vacancy that comes out. No idea on the 900, but 2 months of reserve is a realistic number on the 200 in DTW right now. Could be a bit more, could be less, depending on where you fall in your class in terms of seniority.

KSCessnaDriver is pretty spot on about the 200. Took me 3 months to hold a line in my class but I was one of the youngest. I think it's taking the 900 guys about 6 months. I can only see the 200 reserve grid so I'm not sure how much they're being used on reserve though.

3 months reserve in DTW on the -200 is realistic, especially if you are younger. Could be less depending on how the next few classes go. Expect to fly while on reserve.

Talking to my buddy in a recent class, he said quite a few were going to DTW on the -200, so I'd say that gives you a better chance of staying in Detroit. -900 opens up New York.

DTW -200 went quite a bit junior to MSP in the last month or so.

I did 6 weeks, from finishing OE to holding a line. I'm not going to pretend that everyone will be done that quick, but 3 months is about the longest I would expect to wait for a line, right now.

So I'm hoping to get -900 in NY. Can anyone tell me how often one flys on reserve? Being new to the airlines I always assumed reserve was used if someone called out sick or didn't make their commute and so I figured you weren't called in very often. But reading this thread it seems you fly fairly often on reserve. Can anyone shed some light on why that is? I would think if there are so many more flights they would make more lines to bid.

We seem to be covering a lot of flying for other Delta Connection carriers that cancel. So that's a factor.

Are the flights longer on the 900 vs the 200 (meaning less legs in a month) or is it about the same?
